How to enable ping response in windows 7

Introduction :

Ping stand for (Packet Internet Groper) it is program used to Check the reachability of a host on an Internet Protocol network. It is available for all operating systems that have networking capability. it's use ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol)

Enable ping response in windows 7

Step 1) Go to the Window Search Program by press window key 

Step 2) Write the "network and sharing center" in search bar than click ok


Step 3) Find the "Window Firewall" at the left bottom corner.

Windows Firewall with Advanced Security to help you protect the computers on your network. Windows Firewall with Advanced Security includes a stateful firewall that allows you to determine which network traffic is permitted to pass between your computer and the network. It also includes connection security rules that use Internet Protocol security (IPsec) to protect traffic as it travels across the network.


Step 4) Go to the option with "Advance Setting"

Step 5) Click on Inbound rules and find "File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In)"


Step 6) Just do the Right click and Enable Rule  


Step 7) Now Check it via ping command

Replace the host ip address which you want to ping

$ ping 127.0.0.1
